About Angry at Religion (AAR)

About This Site

The mission of this site is allow religious/conservatives and areligious/liberals to come together and to civilly discuss and debate their positions in a hope that it will foster greater understanding and enlightenment for all. An ancillary benefit will be to hopefully reduce the anger that both sides feel towards each other due to an increase in understanding and appreciation for their positions.

About The Founding This Site

Angry At Religion (AAR) was founded in part due to, well, me being angry at religion, or so I thought. Through debates I have realized my anger was really towards the uber-conservative mindset which is most evident and powerful by religious conservatives, especially within the political arena.

Of course, you can see from the sites name that there is a bias: my bias and that is part of the reason why I have this site. To help me and others through the anger and frustration. It is almost a therapeutic and educational method for me. Hopefully, you will benefit from it too.

Debates that I have participated in on such civil rights movements as same-sex marriage and polygamy/polyamory have had me, almost always, going against religious conservatives, and in seeing this pattern, as well as some debates on Christianity vs Atheism, I thought that these sides need to reconcile and understand each other before any real progress can be made and to reduce the anger between the groups. There is much to be discussed and learned from both sides and I think that a constructive discourse can be great for everyone on both sides.
